Title: Limitations of Imitation
Year: 2012
Size: Variable
Material: Wood, paper, fabric, embroidery, collage print on paper
Place: Mirta Demare, Rotterdam, the Netherlands

The body of work created during 2010-2011 has been shown under the name “Limitation of Imitation”. These are drawings and sculptures made from paper and wooden structures. These structures are called islands; they stand as floating pieces, being individuals as well as intersecting each other. Components of these islands are national symbols, flags, pie chart like shapes. As well as text entries about personal struggle while making these works. Man-made nature of the symbols that turn inhuman and give directions was the departure point for this work.
